Motherhood Care Nepal was established in 2003 during a period of armed conflict between the Maoist insurgency and the Government of Nepal. The conflict left many children orphaned, displaced, and vulnerable, depriving them of proer care, protection, and access to education. Recognizing the urgent need to support these chidlren, a group of dedicated individuals came together to establish Motherhood Care Nepal with the mission of providing shelter, care, protection, education, and opportunities for a better future. What began as a compassionate response to the plight of orphaned and helpless children has grown into a commiteed child welfare organization working to ensure that every child can live in a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment. Since its inception, Motherhood Care Nepal has remained dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable children by promoting their well-being, education, and overall development, enabling them to become confident, responsible, and self-reliant memebers of society.
With a humanitarian prospective of providing motherly care to the orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children, Motherhood Care Nepal started its activity by operating a Child Care Home in 2003. To provide a safe shelter, education and healthcare to those children who were in a great need were its main objectives to bring the Care Home in operation.
Dedicated to protecting and ensuring the rights of vulnerable children, focusing on providing holistic support through education, health care, protection, psycho-social services, and vocational and life skills training to create a nurturing environment where every child can thrive and reach their full potential.
Motherhood Care Nepal has now expanded its services to elderly care programs for senior citizens who are neglected, helpless, and vulnerable and to professional caregiver trainings for childcare and aged care to enhance employment and self-reliance opportunities.
The organization is registered in Lalitpur District Administration Office and affiliated with Social Welfare Council of Nepal. A team of 7-members board committee and an Executive Director play a crucial role in the governance, strategic direction, and oversight of the organization.
